| Direct Access allows people
over 21 years of age, who do not already hold a full motorcycle licence,
faster access to higher power motorcycles. If you do not already have a CBT certificate you must first complete CBT. Part of CBT
may be carried out on a higher power machine. For DAS you must use a
motorcycle with power output above 35kW.
You can practice for your test on a higher
powered machine provided you are accompanied at all times by an
authorised Direct Access instructor who is riding another motorcycle and is
giving you instruction by radio. You must display L plates and wear high
visibility clothing.
 |
You must take and pass the DSA motorcycle
theory test prior to taking your practical test. Even if you are already a
car driver you will need to take the motorcycle theory test. Practice a
theory test now at the
DSA
website. |
For the practical test you must have a
licence that gives provisional entitlement for motorcycles, a theory pass
certificate and a CBT certificate.

We
have hire machines for DAS. We can also provide helmets and protective clothing
if you do not have your own. We do not charge for helmets or clothing.
Direct Access intensive
courses are normally of 3 days, four if CBT is required, with your practical test on the last day.
Pricing includes practical test fee, machine hire and CBT if required.

Pictured right, taking a break from their DAS
training, are Paul and Adam Jefferies, or is it Adam and Paul? They are
seated on two of our DAS bikes, a pair of MZ 660s, outside our classroom in
Taunton Market. |
