| Direct Access allows people
over 21 years of age
faster access to higher power motorcycles. If you do not already have a CBT certificate you must first complete CBT. Your
CBT
will be carried out on a higher power machine.
You train
for your test on a higher
powered machine and are accompanied at all times by an
authorised Direct Access instructor on another motorcycle giving you instruction by radio.
You must take and pass the DSA motorcycle
theory test prior to taking your practical tests.
The
practical motorcycle test is in 2 parts, Module
1 and Module 2.
Module
1 takes place at the test centre and involves a standardised
set of manoeuvres, it lasts about 20 minutes, you must
pass Module 1 before you can take Module 2.
For
Module 1 you must have a
licence that gives provisional entitlement for motorcycles, a theory pass
certificate and a CBT certificate.
Module
2 takes place on normal roads and lasts approximately
50 minutes, about 35 of which are actual riding.
For
module 2 you must have the documents listed above and
the pass certificate from Module 1.
We
have hire machines for DAS, we can also provide helmets and protective clothing
if you do not have your own.
Direct Access intensive
courses are normally 3 days including CBT if required.
Pricing includes practical test fees, machine hire and CBT.
